We're part of the electric driving revolution.

There are so many benefits of switching to a Vauxhall all-electric vehicle - here are just a few.

Driving electric is much cheaper

A car running on electricity costs much less to run than a car running on a petrol or diesel engine. For instance, the petrol Corsa costs upwards of £136.61 a month to run based on 10,000 miles a year. The all-electric Corsa-e on the same mileage would cost just £27.09 a month to run.

It's not just fuel, either: servicing and maintenance costs are much lower since electric cars are much more mechanically reliable. This is because they have much less moving parts in them compared to their petrol and diesel counterparts.

Plentiful tax savings

Since road tax is an emissions-based tax, you won't have to pay any at all - electric vehicles emit none of the harmful gases that are causing climate change.

Plus, recharge your vehicle at home and you'll only be paying 5% tax on the electricity you're using. That's much less than the 20% charged on petrol and diesel.

The team at Southern will be more than happy to discuss with you the many ways you could be saving money with an electric vehicle.

Charging is much easier than you think

On rapid chargers - the kind found at 96% of service stations in the UK - the Mokka-e and Corsa-e will charge to 80% battery in just 30 minutes.

Chargers are becoming much more accessible all the time. In fact, there are now nearly as many charge points as fuel stations! They're often in much more convenient places as well - you won't have to drive out of your way to a fuel station, just charge up whilst you're doing your shopping.

No clean air/congestion zone charges

Clean air zones are already in Birmingham, London and Bath, and they're springing up around the country all the time. It can cost as much as £50 to drive a vehicle into one.

Luckily, electric drivers are exempt from any charges in Birmingham and Bath - and in London until 2025.

Plus, many local councils have schemes supporting electric car owners with things like free charging, free parking and even free use of bus lanes! Be sure to check for any local schemes available.

£6,000 Government grant for electric vehicles

Purchasing an electric vehicle is now more affordable than ever. With the sale of petrol and diesel cars set to end in 2030, the government is keen for people to make the switch. As a result, you can get a grant of up to £2,500 for an electric car, and up to £6,000 for an electric van.

The team at Southern will be happy to arrange this grant for you, and to sort out all the paperwork as well.
